Week 2 Pics Sept 3

Week 2! Last week flew by as I started implementing some of my new fitness ideals. Water? Check. Hitting my step goal? Check. Drinking less calories? Check. Getting veggies and fruits in was a challenge as I didn't have a ton on hand. Dan and I were taken to dinner by friends to celebrate our anniversary so I ate very carefully early in the day so that I could enjoy dinner guilt-free. I took home half of my dinner in a to go box and skipped dessert. Baby steps make all the difference in the long run. I'm quite pleased with my first week.

Woot! I dropped two pounds. I know it's probably just water weight, but I'll take it!

Week 1: Starting Out August 27, 2023

Here we go! These are my week 1 photos to establish a baseline from our starting point. These photos are difficult for me to look at even thought I am well aware of what I look like to other people. While I remind myself that how I look is the least important or interesting thing about me, I also balance that with wanting to live long enough to be covered in great-grandbabies before I go to meet Jesus face to face. And so, here we are. At the starting gate of a journey towards getting myself healthier so I can accomplish that goal. I can do this!

Starting Weight: 169.0

MONTH~ly Weigh In: October 26, 2015

Let's just call a spade a spade, shall we? I don't have the time, energy or (apparently) the desire to post every week, or every other week. A monthly check in shall have to do. Hope that's ok with all 3 of my followers. LOL!
Without further ado, the good news.
I lost 4 more pounds this month!
Woot! Down to 155.
More good news, I switched from only drinking water during work hours (2-6 most days) to drinking water 24/7 with an occasional glass of tea. As a gal that can easily drink 3/4 to a full gallon of tea a day, that is BIG news. And after a few pangs for the good old days, water tastes great and even the barely sweet tea I make is tasting really sweet these days. So, I'm totally on the right track with that bit of news. I also joined Planet Fitness (furthermore to be called PFit) as I previously mentioned and I'm enjoying it like crazy. I'm sure the newness will wear off at some point, but for now, I'm raving about it to anyone who will listen and dragging anyone who listens to me for more than 7 seconds along on my next workout.
The bad news, I'm still really struggling with portion control and I may have to break down and purchase a kitchen scale until I can get a good handle on how much a serving actually is again. :( More bad news, I gave up on the Uptown Funk Ab Challenge. I simply don't have enough ab strength YET to manage it. So I am working on dropping some pounds and then I will attempt it again. And, there's more. I LOVE to eat, y'all. I love to put food in my mouth, I love to taste food, enjoy the texture of food, the smell of food, the camaraderie around a table full of food and friends. I love to cook, I love to shop for food, I love to watch shows about cooking. I love everything about food...except the being fat part. So, I'm going to have to work on loving losing weight more than I love to put food in my mouth. And I'm going to need to quit equating socializing with eating, although with Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years around the corner, this may prove to be more difficult than I hope.
Over all, I"m pleased with this month. I have an actual victory this month. 4 more pounds gone, and they are going to stay that way!
Thanks for taking this journey with me!

Look What I Did!

So, this happened. :)
Yep, I joined Planet Fitness this weekend. Dan is a member and totally loves it, so I figured I would give it a try. Pat will be my normal workout buddy, and we will go as often as we can when David is home. When D can't make it home at a reasonable hour, I'll have to go by myself or find another buddy to take, but it's a start. I'm too cheap to let my whole $20 go to waste, so that is just extra motivation, right?
I've decided that I will never be good at working out at home. And that's not a character flaw, I'm just busy and often distracted, and always interrupted, so if I need to join a gym to get my workouts done, then let's do that.
We've been a few times already and I"m really enjoying it. I'm trying ALL. THE. THINGS.
Treadmills? Check
Ellipticals? Check
Stair Climbers? Heck NO
Weight lifting machines? Check
30 minute cardio circuit? Check
Hydro-massage? Check
Recumbent Bikes? Check
Total Body Enhancement thing a ma bobber? Check
I'll keep you posted on the long term results  :)

Weekend Weigh In: July 19, 2015

I've decided that the weekends are the best time for me to do updates on weight and occasionally pictures. So without further ado...the results of 2 whole weeks of work. I'll be honest enough to say the last 2 days have been hard for healthful eating, since I'm a stress-eater. However, between the beans and rice lunches, squat challenge, water drinking and swimming as often as I have time to get in the pool, I think I'll at least even out.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Starting Weight: 160 pounds

Current Weight: 159.5
Weight Change: -1/2 pound
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Not quite a huge change, but every little bit helps. I have new motivation (and more opportunity) to work out with Dan out of town. I'm hoping to surprise him with a #10 loss by our anniversary at the end of August. I'll keep ya posted. ;)
The squat challenge kicks into high gear this coming week, so by next weekend, I may not be able to walk. Which would at least mean it was working. And I neeeeed to be in the pool every work day this week. Here we go!
Oh, I almost forgot. I promised a picture. Enjoy!

This is one of my new fave outfits. Comfy but stylish brown and gold t-shirt, dark jeans, brown and gold flats.

The Scale Doesn't Lie...or so they say!

Time for the weekly weigh in....here we go. My water intake was GREAT this week! Fruits and veggies not so much, but I was close most days, so I gotta keep working on that one. Working out, I did pretty well. I was much more active this week than usual even around the house, working in the yard, etc...so even though I actually missed a workout or two, I feel ok about that. The stair thing is working out pretty well, although I had to convince one of the dogs to STOP running up and down with me and barking the whole time...ha ha ha! So what's left?? OH, just the weight and picture...BRB

Starting weight: 155

Goal weight: 110

Present weight 144...YES another pound GONE!

Pounds to goal: 34

Pounds LOST: 11

Hmmm, the picture is kinda dark, and it's not as flattering as the last one so that's OK...LOL! See you soon!

Frustrating!

So this week hasn't gone well at all...*sigh*...it has been an incredibly long, stressful week. Since I snack when I'm stressed, well, I gained back 2 pounds....so depressing! On the upside, by Thursday, I noticed I was doing that, scaled it back and lost those two pounds again...but if I keep losing the same two pounds over and over, this is going to take longer than I had hoped...LOL! I DID get in my 8 of liquid each day, and my 5 fruits and veggies almost everyday. I missed a workout on Friday from being too sore from the day before and Dan and I have yet to squeeze in a lifting session this week. That MAY be making the difference. I went to the Dr. this week to get a physical and blood work done to make sure I am healthy enough to lose weight (that always cracks me up) and for some other medical things that are irritating me. So I'll be getting the results of that on Tuesday or Wednesday hopefully. I'll add a picture at the bottom and call it a day. If you are the praying sort, please join me in prayer over this issue, it's had hold of me for long enough and I need to get some control over it and SOON. Thanks!!

Current Weight: 152

Goal weight: 105-110

Pounds to go: 42-47...I'll get there, I will!

Thanks for joining me on this adventure! ~K~

A Good First Week

Well, it's been a week now since I started this thing, but a few since I started really working to lose some weight and it's been a fun ride already. I am already enjoying a few benefits of working out, not so much like I dropped 18 pounds in 3 days, but more energy due to the working out, my muscles don't feel as tight and sore by the end of the day anymore and I'm sleeping better. Not bad for one week of effort. Also, I did drop 3 pounds this week and am down to 152. It's late right now so I will have Dan snap a pic before we head to church in the AM. Just in case someone doesn't know...the Billy Blanks Boot Camp series is evil! I can still only make it through about 17 minutes before I feel like I am going to have a stroke...sad, but true. After 3 weeks of doing Pilates 2-3 times a week, I can actually do a roll up again...that took more effort than I'm willing to admit! I did good this week on staying hydrated and getting my 5 servings of veggies and fruits most days, but there is still room for improvement. Dan upped the weights I was using, apparently I wasn't making it look hard enough...LOL! Jodi's Hip Hop Abs DVDs are calling me so I will add one of those this week to keep it from getting too monotonous. Starting Monday, Jodi doesn't have to be at work until 8:30, so maybe I will 'encourage' her to work out with me...hee hee hee. Anyway, that's the update to this week.
Thanks for being interested,

The DREADED before Picture

I saw someone else do this and I thought it was a great way to stay accountable for my weightloss journey this year. So without further ado...some before pics...*Sigh* is this really who I have become?? NO MORE!! I will be healthy by Dec of 2009...Lord willin' and the creek don't rise!!

Each week (or two) I will take a new pic of myself, and post my current weight. That ought to keep me on track...hee hee!

BEFORE WEIGHT 155 lbs: Oh the horrors of the before pictures...be kind!

Workout plan...3 X a week aerobics , 2-3 X a week, Pilates, yoga or something else more stretching, less heavy breathing, 2 x a week,. lift weights with Dan..less weight, more reps, I don't want bulk, I want tone~

Eating plan, Make sure I get my 8-8oz glasses of liquid, get my 5 fruits and veggies in, and cut down (sigh) on the carbs, eat WHOLE grains (well on my way with this one already) and try to get an extra serving of fish in each week.

I INTEND to lose about 1-2 pounds a week and if I manage that I will be at my goal weight of 110 by around October-ish...just intime for the holiday eating to begin again..LOL! But by then, my routines will be in place, I will have more muscle to burn off excess calories and I will have begged, borrowed or stolen some will power! Wish me luck and God speed! Thanks in advance for your support!!

Blessings,

Kristy
