- I must not be working out enough
- I am not eating as healthfully as I would like to think
- Portion control is still out of control
- Motivation/Time is a bigger factor than I would like to admit
- I just don't care very much about being fat....dang it!
Honestly, most of them have come into play almost every day...sigh! But, it's a brand new week, the house is decent, I only work 2 days, and so I have no excuses not to be working harder on this goal of mine. I need to keep reminding myself that the weight will not just fall off. SO...to that end, wish me luck as I restart the uphill battle of the bulge. I want to be healthy, fit and even trim. Let's get that burning...where's my Denise Austin Kickboxing tape?? Anyone have any ideas, motivation or words of wisdom for me???
not gaining is a very good thing and a good start, so you are doing something right. You'd probably see results with either more workout OR less eating. (though of course, doing bpth will have more results)- so maybe just start with one thing to change.. think Baby Steps. fine one thing to eliminate (carbs at breakfast, or eating after 7PM)or find one thing to add to your day (more fresh fruit or more fiber or walking around the block every morning before breakfast). If you just think of it as a baby step- just one thing to do differently, it might be easier.
ReplyDeleteYou could do something new each week. For example...week one-reduce portions. As silly as it sounds, eat off a smaller plate! It really does make you feel like you are getting more. Week 2-work out 20 minutes 3x a week. Start with walking. Week 3-up your water intake. I am finding that doing it like this is really a lot easier bc you don't feel overwhelmed, like you are trying to do it all at once. By the 2nd week, I feel I have a good grasp on things & I am ready to tackle the challenge for myself for the next week. I have been fighting this battle myself. After thyroid testing etc. the doctor narrowed it all down to when I started antidepressants.
ReplyDeleteIt put the weight on & has been keeping me from losing weight so after a month of working out 6 days a week for an hour a day & increasing my water intake & reducing portions...I hadn't lost any weight! guess who threw in the towel? Now I am on a new antidepressant that is supposed to actually promote weight loss. So...I am trying it all over again! If I can find the web article that I read about the weekly challenges for yourself, I will post the link. (((hugs))))
